Privacy Policy

Privacy, in plain language

Privacy you can't read isn't privacy. So here it is straight: what this website collects, what each of our products does with your data, and what we never do with any of it.

Studio Labs Online LLC · North Carolina · Effective date TO BE SET AT PUBLISH

The short version

Traffic measurement on this website is limited to Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views. Cloudflare states that it uses no cookies or other client-side state for analytics. No accounts, no ad tracking, no heatmaps.

3MF QuickView, our macOS app, makes no network connections and collects nothing. List Tools runs entirely in your browser; what you paste stays on your device.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever. No dark patterns.

Who this covers

Studio Labs Online LLC is a small, independent software studio in North Carolina, United States. This policy covers two things: this website (studiolabsonline.com), and our products, 3MF QuickView and the List Tools suite. Because those pieces touch data differently, we describe them separately instead of pretending one blanket statement fits all of them.

This website

studiolabsonline.com is a marketing and information site. Traffic measurement here is limited to light, privacy-respecting analytics, so we can see roughly how many people visit and which pages are useful. That is aggregate measurement, not a profile of you. Here is the whole picture:

What we measure
Page views, the site that referred you, the country a request appears to come from, and broad device or browser type. Those are the figures the provider's dashboard reports, and they are counted in aggregate.
Analytics provider
Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare says it uses no client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, for analytics purposes, and that it does not track people over time by IP address, User Agent string, or other fixed attributes. It counts a visit by looking at the site you arrived from rather than by keeping a record of you. Where it is running, its measurement script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and reports to this site's own /cdn-cgi/rum path while the domain is proxied through Cloudflare.
Retention
Cloudflare's dashboard makes the previous six months of figures available, and Cloudflare states that it keeps unsampled measurement data for 7 days before aggregating it down to around ten percent. Those retention figures are Cloudflare's own and can change. We read the numbers where they live and keep no copy of our own.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own, and the analytics above is built to work without client-side state. The home page does keep one short-lived sessionStorage flag, so that a small animation plays once per visit rather than on every page load; it holds nothing about you and goes away when you close the tab. The colophon page carries a live cookie counter that measures this in your own browser as the page loads, so you do not have to take our word for it.
Hosting logs
Our host records standard technical request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and reliability, as nearly every website's host does.
Accounts
None. There is nothing to sign into, and no advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.

Our products

Every product is its own thing. Where a product collects nothing, we say so plainly rather than dressing it up.

3MF QuickView (macOS app)

3MF QuickView renders previews and thumbnails of .3mf files entirely on your Mac. It is a sandboxed app that makes no network connections, contains no analytics or tracking, and collects no data whatsoever. Your files never leave your machine. There is no account and no sign-in, and there is nothing for us to see. The app has no way to send your files anywhere, so we could not read them even if we wanted to. More about the app lives at 3mfquickview.com.

List Tools (web tools at list-tools.com)

The List Tools suite (Compare Two Lists, Convert Case, Count Duplicates, Remove Duplicates, Sort a List, and Random Picker) runs entirely in your browser. The lists and text you paste are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to us or stored on a server. There are no accounts. The List Tools site keeps its own privacy policy covering its site-level analytics and any advertising: see list-tools.com.

Where a product collects nothing, we say so plainly. We would rather under-claim on data than dress it up.

What we never do

Information you send us

If you email us, for example at contact@studiolabsonline.com or privacy@studiolabsonline.com, we receive your message and your email address so we can reply. We keep those messages only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. Please don't send us sensitive personal information you don't want us to have. We don't pass those messages on to anyone else, though we may have to disclose information where valid legal process, such as a subpoena or a court order, requires it. And if a security breach ever affects personal information about you, we will tell you what happened as soon as we reasonably can.

Your choices and rights

Privacy laws differ from place to place, so rather than write a separate section for each one, here is the full set of rights in plain language. Which of them you actually have, and how far each one reaches, depends on the law where you live.

Subject to that law, you can ask us to do any of the following.

Two practical notes. The site measurement described above is aggregate and is not tied to your name or to an account, so for most requests there is simply nothing of yours for us to look up. And we cannot reach into data a third party holds on its own account, so where a request really belongs with our host or our analytics provider, we will say so and point you to them.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing on that front for you to opt out of.

To make a request, email privacy@studiolabsonline.com and ask in your own words. We may need enough information from you to be confident the request is really yours, and we will use whatever you send only to handle it. We aim to reply within 30 days, and we will tell you if a request needs longer. Making a request costs nothing and changes nothing about how we treat you.

If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to a data protection or consumer protection authority.

Children

Our products and this site are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email privacy@studiolabsonline.com and we will delete it. Some countries set a higher age for children's privacy, and where a higher age applies to you, that is the one we apply.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be described here before they take effect.
